Art Camp
What could be more exciting then attending a camp during the long summer holiday? Add the arts to the camping experience and you have a winning combination. That is exactly the idea behind PARTNERS ANNUAL ART CAMP, held in August on Grand Mesa, the largest flat topped mountain in the world.
Classes include such diverse arts as gourmet cooking, kite building, T-shirt painting, dance, music, theater, black and white photography, magic tricks, and creative writing. Additional classes include scrapbooking, polymer clay, stained glass, paper mache and silk painting. Then add in the many types of visual arts, including beginning drawing, charcoal drawing and watercolor. There is something for everyone.
At days end, the performing art sessions- music, dance, theater- will present a performance of their talents. This is followed by a sing- a- long around the campfire with s'mores for all.
The Art Camp is open to all youth and adults registered in the PARTNERS and Art Partners program. The general public is also invited to attend as space allows. For information on dates, classes, cost, or an entry form, contact the PARTNERS office in Delta, Montrose or Ouray.
Taste of the Arts
Taste of the Arts are just as the name implies, small bites of the arts in mini-workshops held bi-monthly. Art Partners are invited into an artist's studio for hands-on experiences. These sessions have featured improvisational theater, sculpture with raku firing, mini concerts with organ and piano, glass blowing, scouting for rock art and many of the other multitude of talents that abound in Delta, Montrose and Ouray Counties.
