As long-time Mentoring Champion of Delta County, Betsy Shepherd, prepares an enjoyable retirement, we are left with big shoes to fill and looking for the right candidate. Partners Youth Mentoring of Delta, Montrose and Ouray is looking for a youth mentoring coordinator (aka Case Manager Plus) for Delta County.
The right person will be ready to work closely with disadvantaged youth and adult volunteer mentors as well as our small team of youth serving professionals. Part of the job is to create and/or assist with monthly activities like rafting, holiday parties and art activities designed to give our youth new and meaningful experiences. We are looking for someone not afraid to scour Delta county looking for volunteer mentors to meet the demand. In addition to case management, the position may include data collection, reporting, mentor training and over site of school-based mentoring program with Delta County School District.
Partners has served the area for more than 30 years with best-practice mentoring programs for at-risk youth and young creatives. Bachelors or equivalent experience in a human service related field is encouraged and the energy to deal with enthusiastic youth is a must. A familiarity with Delta County and connections with the folks who live there is also a strong qualification. Position will have no less than 30 hours per week (potential for more) with and $13 - $17/hr - DOE.
The job includes some nights and usually one Saturday each month. Occasional assistance with fundraisers and public relations events is also required. Travel will be necessary and a background check is required. Benefits include flexible schedule, vacation and sick time, $200/month health stipend following probationary period and a positive work environment.
