We would like to thank the youth that worked hard to visualize and organize this event. Unfortunately the program received too few submissions and will not take place. If you have an idea for a youth led project to take place in the next several months, look at the link below.
The goal of this project is to encourage conversation between families about the challenges, emotions, and changes that are a part of growing up. With this event, this changemaker strives to provide an opportunity and resources to better communicate about the different emotions that develop in life.
Join us for pizza and a screening of the movie Inside Out! Along with this, there will be an expert in the field of emotions to provide insight and resources around how to have these tough conversations.
What is Partners and Western Slope Changemakers?
Partners offers mentoring to youth in Delta, Montrose, and Ouray. We also work with the Office of Behavioral Health to make those communities healthier. Partners has accepted applications from youth in these counties who are motivated to promote healthy youth development through youth-led, adult-supported projects that will be conceptualized and executed by youth. Partners will provide funding, network of mentors, and knowledge to changemakers to help them succeed in their goals. Youth have an expertise and innovation for change that is too often overlooked and underutilized. The Western Slope Changemaker Program puts youth in the driver seat to bettering their community.
The Love is Love Short Film Festival and More Than Just a Movie are just the first of many fantastic Western Slope Changemakers projects to come. If you are a young person, or know one, who has big dreams for their community, reach out to us! We want to hear your ideas.
